Daily Tasks & Shared Living
Overview
Help with daily tasks, your way.
Daily tasks and shared living support is about more than just getting things done - it is about living well. Our compassionate support workers help you with the everyday activities that keep your life running smoothly, from personal care and meal preparation to household management and community connections.
Whether you live in a shared home with other participants or in your own place with visiting support, we tailor our assistance to your unique routine, preferences, and goals. The aim is always to build your skills and confidence so you can do more of what matters to you, at your own pace.
A Day In Your Life
What supported living looks like.
Every day is different, but here is an example of how daily support can weave smoothly into your routine, giving you structure, companionship, and the freedom to focus on what matters.
Wake-up support
Gentle morning wake-up, assistance with washing and dressing, and a nourishing breakfast together.
Morning planning
Review the day ahead, check appointments, set personal goals, and organise any tasks or activities planned.
Community connection
Head out to a community activity, social group, shopping, or appointment with support as needed.
Lunch & leisure
Prepare and enjoy lunch together, followed by some downtime, hobbies, or a walk in the local area.
Skill building
Focused time on independent living skills such as budgeting, laundry, cooking practice, or online tasks.
Evening meal prep
Plan and prepare the evening meal, set the table, and enjoy dinner with housemates or support worker.
Wind-down routine
Relaxation, personal care, preparing for bed, and reflecting on the day in a calm, supportive environment.
Support Areas
Every part of your day covered.
We provide support across all the key areas of daily life, so you can focus on living rather than on logistics and stressful tasks.
Get in touchMorning routines
Support with waking up, personal hygiene, dressing, and preparing for the day ahead. We work at your pace and respect your preferences around timing and routine to start each day positively. A calm, consistent morning sets the tone for the entire day, and our support workers help you build routines that reduce stress and set you up for success in work, study, or community activities under your NDIS plan.
Evening wind-down
Assistance with evening routines including showering, changing into nightwear, setting up a comfortable sleep environment, and reflecting on the day in a calm, reassuring way. Quality sleep is essential for physical health, emotional regulation, and daily functioning, and our evening support helps you wind down properly so you wake up refreshed and ready for the day ahead.
Meal planning & cooking
Help with grocery shopping, meal planning, cooking nutritious meals, and learning kitchen skills. We support you to eat well according to your dietary needs, preferences, and cultural background while building the skills to prepare meals independently over time. Cooking and nutrition skills are a key NDIS daily living support that improves health outcomes, reduces food costs, and gives you greater choice and control over what you eat every day.
Medication management
Reminders and assistance with taking medications as prescribed, organising dosette boxes, liaising with pharmacies, and keeping accurate health records so nothing is ever missed. Proper medication management prevents hospital admissions, maintains stable health conditions, and gives you and your family peace of mind knowing your treatment schedule is on track and your supplies are always ordered in advance.
Transport & appointments
Support to get to medical appointments, community activities, work, or social events. We can travel with you or help you build confidence using public transport independently over time. Reliable transport is often the difference between attending important appointments or missing them, and our consistent scheduling ensures you never have to choose between your health and your independence.
Household tasks
Help with laundry, cleaning, tidying, and organising your living space. A clean and orderly home contributes to your comfort, wellbeing, and sense of pride in where you live. Household support is one of the most commonly accessed NDIS Core supports, and our approach focuses on building your skills alongside completing tasks so you gain confidence managing your home independently over time.
Budgeting & finances
Support with managing money, paying bills, budgeting for expenses, and understanding your NDIS plan funding. We help you build financial literacy and independence step by step, from setting up direct debits and automatic payments to tracking spending and identifying areas where you can save. Financial capability is a critical Capacity Building skill that underpins independent living and long-term housing stability.
Shopping & errands
Accompanied shopping trips for groceries, clothing, and personal items. We help you compare prices, make choices, and manage purchases within your budget confidently. Shopping support is a practical daily living skill that also provides valuable community access and social interaction, helping you stay connected to your local neighbourhood while building the skills to shop independently over time.

FAQ
Daily living questions answered.
Shared living homes typically accommodate 2 to 5 participants. The size of the home and the compatibility of housemates are carefully considered to create a harmonious living environment that works for everyone involved.
Yes. When possible we involve you in the selection process to ensure compatibility with potential housemates. Shared living works best when everyone's routines, personalities, and lifestyle preferences align well together.
Your support plan is reviewed regularly and can be adjusted at any time. If your needs increase, we can allocate additional support hours through your NDIS plan or coordinate with your plan manager to arrange a plan review.
Absolutely. Shared living does not mean sharing a bedroom. You will have your own private bedroom, and in many cases your own ensuite bathroom. Common areas like the kitchen, lounge, and garden are shared with housemates.
That is a goal we fully support. We work with you to build the skills needed for independent living and can help you transition to your own place when you feel ready, with ongoing outreach support as needed.
Yes. Daily tasks and shared living support typically fall under Core supports, specifically Assistance with Daily Living. If you have SIL (Supported Independent Living) funding, that also covers shared living arrangements with 24/7 support.
Our support team mediates any conflicts that arise. We facilitate calm conversations, establish clear house agreements, and work with everyone to find solutions that restore harmony in the home.
Yes, your home is your home. You are welcome to have visitors during reasonable hours, and overnight guests can be arranged with consideration for your housemates. Family and friends are always welcome.
We carefully match support workers based on your personality, interests, communication style, and support needs. Consistency is important to us, so you will have the same core team who know you well and understand your preferences.
Our support team is trained in emergency procedures including first aid, medication emergencies, and behaviour support. Each home has an emergency plan, and staff are available 24/7 to respond to any situation that arises.
